Brett J Saunders is Director and Principal Counsel of Saunders Commercial Lawyers, a boutique Law Firm based in Sydney specialising in the provision of advice, representation and in-house services to leading Australian and international organisations.
Brett is a highly motivated legal advisor with broad ranging commercial experience. Brett is regularly called upon to develop and implement strategic, commercially astute, legal solutions. Brett combines exemplary legal skills with a highly developed commercial acumen to decrease exposure and increase the opportunities of his clients.
Before founding Saunders Commercial Lawyers in 2012, Brett was a member of the NSW Bar and Special Counsel. Brett has appeared in wide range of jurisdictions and has acted in a number of leading Australian cases involving the health sector and regulators, most notably Pan Pharmaceuticals and the Pharmacare Class Action. Brett has extensive dispute resolution experience and is a former Seirix Lead Negotiator.
Brett has extensive experience as a director and advising Australian Boards. As a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Brett combines his extensive practical experience with a deep understanding of corporate governance and policy development to drive sustainable corporate performance. Brett currently provides advice and representation to a range of leading Australian and international companies and has a special interest in Boardroom performance, governance and director disputes.
With a career-long exposure to the commercial health sector, Brett is uniquely placed to provide advice and representation to health care sector participants. Brett’s health care experience includes deep commercial, governance and regulatory law exposure. Brett is the former director of the Regulatory Research Association and is currently enjoying a secondment as Legal Counsel with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in Sydney.
Brett has published a range of scholarly articles and regularly accepts invitations to speak on topics of interest and expertise.
